| Arnold Hirshon has been the
Executive Director of NELINET since April 1999. During this time
he launched NELINET's Consulting Solutions, initiated the New England
Digital Library and the NELINET Digital Library Services, and expanded
the NELINET Educational Services. From 1995 to 1999 he served as
Vice Provost for Information Resources at Lehigh University, where
he was responsible for the University libraries, computing, telecommunications,
and media services. He was also the founder and first chairperson
of the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. (PALCI), which
led the development of a statewide virtual union catalog user-initiated
lending system. He holds an M.L.S. from Indiana University, and
an M.PA. (public administration) from Wayne State University. |
| Phil
Hunt |
| Phil Hunt is a computer-networking specialist currently
working as the IT Program Director. He graduated from George Washington
University in 1979 and has worked in the computer industry for more
than 25 years. In 1983, he worked for Apple Computer, helping to design
the first Macintosh computers as well as helping in the design of
the CD-ROM drive. Mr. Hunt also owns and operates an Internet Service
Provider company (ISP) called Internet Services of New England and
has operated that company for over 10 years. His expertise in designing
computer networks and computer security are well known in the industry
and he has participated on many committees dealing with network security
and design. He taught nine years at the New Hampshire Technical College
and currently lives in Natick, Massachusetts. |
| Erin Logsdon |
| Erin Logsdon is the Digital Solutions Consultant for NELINET, providing consulting and education services in digital solutions for libraries. She has an MS in Educational Media from Portland State University and an MLIS from Simmons College. Erin began her library career as an elementary school librarian and has worked in a variety of library settings. Most recently Erin worked as a taxonomist for a professional services firm. Her interests and expertise include taxonomy, usability, project management, Web 2.0 technologies and metadata. |
| Margaret
Lourie |
| Margaret Lourie, Technical Services Consultant,
teaches courses and assists members with cataloging and OCLC bibliographic
products. She has held a number of positions in technical services,
cataloging, and library systems in New England libraries. Prior to
joining NELINET, she spent a year working for Fact City, an Internet
fact-finding service. She holds an A.M.L.S. from the University of
Michigan, an M.A. in Slavic Studies from Boston College, and an MBA
from Suffolk University. |
| Connie Massey |
| Connie Massey, Program Director for Educational and Consulting Services, has extensive experience in information services and management. She comes to NELINET from IDC, the premier global provider of market intelligence and advisory services for information technology markets, where she served as the Manager of Editorial Services. Previously, she managed content and staff for several Internet start-up firms, including Switchboard.com, Forefield.com, and Product ReviewNet.com, her own start-up, which was purchased by ConsumerSearch.com. Connie also served as the Associate Director of Abstracting Services at the H. W. Wilson Company and as Manager of Data Base Services at UMI. Connie holds an MLS from the University of Michigan. |
| Tim Rivard |
| Tim Rivard, Senior Consultant assists members with training and support on collection and resource sharing products and services. Prior to working at NELINET, Tim was director of a corporate library for a Fortune 500 financial services company, as well as a director of health science libraries for a major teaching hospital. He earned a MLS from the University of Rhode Island, a MA in History from Assumption College and completed his coursework for a DA in Library Administration from Simmons College. |
| Stephen Sanzo |
| Stephen Sanzo is the Marketing Communications Manager for NELINET. In this position he manages and executes daily marketing efforts, including the promotion of NELINET programs and services through online and print newsletters, press releases, brochures, flyers, e-mail communications, and catalogs. Stephen has extensive background in marketing for non-profits. Prior to joining NELINET he was the Communications and Development Manager for Communities United and the Assistant Director of Marketing for the Massachusetts Credit Union League. Stephen was also the founder of an architecture magazine, Visual Architecture, and the author of a children’s picture book, Cranky Pants. He holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, and is working towards his M.B.A at Babson College. |
| Stephen Spohn |
Stephen Spohn (Senior Consultant for Library Planning and Assessment Services) joined NELINET in April 2008 to lead NELINET’s initiatives to meet member-identified needs for assessment and accreditation. He is a member of NELINET’s team of expert consultants and trainers and is a perfect complement to their collective expertise with his background and interests. His library management background includes solid experience in strategic planning, project management, assessment and data analysis including overall library strategic planning, library moves and space planning, and information literacy assessment. In addition, Spohn has extensive experience evaluating, implementing and managing technologies including Web design, Web application development, databases, learning technologies and Web 2.0 with a focus on leveraging those technologies for information literacy and library service delivery.
Spohn served in various positions at the University of Maryland, George Mason University, the Atlanta University Center and Northern Essex Community College. His most recent position was as University Librarian at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, where he was charged with establishing a new library and library services at a brand new university. He holds an M.L.S. and a B.S. in microbiology from the University of Maryland. |
| Sue Wolfman |
| Sue Wolfman, a New York native, graduated with a B.A. in English from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo and continued her education at Simmons College, receiving her MLS at Simmons College in 1975. She worked for many years as a corporate librarian, most recently as the Library Manager at GTE Corporation (now Verizon). During her tenure at GTE, the GTE Library was recognized as one of the most innovative corporate libraries of the 1990’s. In 2000, Sue left GTE and went to work for EBSCO as both a sales and service representative for the New England region. She achieved great sales successes and built excellent customer relationships, and hopes to continue those relationships in her role as NELINET’s Library products and Services Manager. |
